The Lithographs are drawn with crayon on a slab of limestone or a metal plate, following a time honored method that dates from the year 1790, when it was invented. The small editions are hand printed one at a time from the stone or plate on a traditional flatbed lithography press. A "state" refers to the same image printed on another type of paper, or with different element that distinguishes it from the main edition. "Chine collee" means that the lithograph has been printed on a paper that has then been collaged to a second sheet of paper.

The Drypoint Engravings are hand-drawn by scratching an image into a copper plate with a needle, the same process artists have used since the late 15th century. The editions are then printed by hand one at a time from the copper plate on a traditional intaglio printing press. Both the lithograph editions and the engraving editions are printed by Master Printer Mark Mahaffey of Portland, Oregon. Mark has collaborated with many fine contemporary artists, including Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, and David Hockney.
